Time spent watching ads becomes currency to buy programming

A new digital content provider is aiming to transform advertisements from something that lures money out of consumers’ wallets into currency that pads their pockets.

Launching in private beta Friday, HitBliss allowing consumers to earn the cash required to pay for the films and TV episodes available on the service by watching commercials.

Rather than watch ad-interrupted programming, viewers can clock time watching ads, with each minute spent translating to dollars that can rent or buy fare including movies in the DVD window via top studios including Paramount, Warner Bros. and Universal or next-day access to primetime TV programming.

HitBliss content can be consumed across devices. Content can also be secured via credit cards.
