Bill Clinton Keynote MPAA, Microsoft Event

Conference will be held before White House Correspondents dinner

Former President Bill Clinton will headline a new conference sponsored by the MPAA, Microsoft and Time to be held on the eve of the White House Correspondents Assn. weekend in Washington later this month.

Clinton will give the keynote at the Creativity Conference, which will explore the intersection of technology and the arts and “its ability to drive innovation, invention and competitiveness.” Also on the bill is Harvey Weinstein, who will discuss the creators process.

The event will be held on April 26 at the Corcoran Gallery of Art, timed when media, government officials and entertainment industry figures descend on Washington for the annual White House Correspondents Assn. dinner the next evening. MPAA chairman Chris Dodd also has been pursuing a strategy of trying to find common ground with the tech community as well as co-operation outside the legislative process in fighting online piracy.
