‘Arrested Development’ Poster Hints at Its Finite Future

In case there’s any doubt that the upcoming revival of “Arrested Development” will be limited to just one season, take a look at the new poster Netflix released Tuesday for the series.

While “House of Cards” and “Hemlock Grove” are dubbed “Netflix Original Series” in their posters, “Arrested” is simply labeled a “Netflix Original,” thus completely removing it from Netflix’s series wheelhouse.

Netflix brass have already stated that this dump of new “Arrested Development” episodes on the streaming site will be the first and last for the laffer, and that the service has no plans of ordering another run.

Though the series’ diehard fans may not have wanted to hear it, CEO Reed Hastings made the series’ limited run clear in a February conference call.

“‘Arrested’ is a unique property, we don’t anticipate being able to do season five, six and seven,” Hastings said. “We have less of a stake in it. It is really a fantastic one-off, which is coming together incredibly.

In short, the May 26 debut of “Arrested” on Netflix should be savored, because that’s all you’re getting…

…that is, until the “Arrested” movie.
