Details of President Obama’s next fund-raising trek to L.A. are being finalized, with plans for an event on the morning of Nov. 26 at the home of “Friends” co-creator Marta Kauffman and her husband, composer Michael Skloff, sources said.
The event, with tickets priced at $32,400, will be a small roundtable to raise money for the Democratic National Committee. Kauffman (pictured) and Skloff were to host a similar event in September, but it was canceled as Obama was engaged in dealing with the crisis in Syria. A source said that the size of the event will probably be about 25 to 30 donors.
The day before, Obama will trek to Los Angeles for two events with Rep. Steve Israel (D-N.Y.), Sen. Michael Bennet (D-Colo.), House Minority Leader Nancy Pelosi and Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid. The first will be a reception at the home of Magic Johnson and his wife Cookie, with tickets starting at $2,500 per person. A photo line and reception costs $5,000 per person, and a VIP “clutch,” photo and general reception costs $15,000 per person.
The next will be a dinner at the home of Haim and Cheryl Saban, with tickets starting at $16,200 per person, or $32,400 per couple, according to the invite. The dinner also includes a photo line. The money will go to the House Senate Victory Fund, a joint fundraising committee of the Democratic Congressional Campaign Committee and the Democratic Senatorial Campaign Committee. Israel is chairing the DCCC and Bennet is chairing the DSCC in the 2014 campaign cycle.
