GroupM Entertainment Names Adam Pincus Exec

TV and ad exec moves up to prominent spot at WPP unit

Adam Pincus has been  named exec veep of programming and production for GroupM Entertainment North America, a new position at the WPP content-development unit, effective immediately.

Pincus will report to GroupM Entertainment Global Chief Executive Officer Peter Tortorici, and will be based in New York.

In his new role, Pincus will be responsible for overseeing all programming development and production for GME’s North American investments in television and digital content.  He will also be involved in creative oversight and the development of new financing models.

Pincus most recently served as a managing partner at MediaCom a media-buying firm that is part of GroupM. he was also director of the agency’s branded-entertainment unit, MediaCom Beyond Advertising.

Prior to joining MediaCom, Pincus owned and operated his own production company, Hour One, where he executive produced “Nimrod Nation,” an eight-part series for the Sundance Channel for which he was awarded a prestigious Peabody Award.  Hour One also sold projects to ABC, AMC, Disney’s Buena Vista Television and TV One. He also  worked as senior veep of on-air, original programming and new media at Sundance, where he   created and executive produced “Iconoclasts”, a series produced in association with Condé Nast Media Group and Grey Goose Entertainment.  He began his career at Viacom.
