New post effective July 22

Lee Rierson has joined FremantleMedia North America as chief operating officer.

Rierson arrives at the studio from Shine America, where he also served as COO. In his new post at FMNA, Rierson will report to CEO Thom Beers and oversee production, biz and legal affairs, communications and marketing, business development and strategic planning.

‘We couldn’t be more excited to have Lee bring his incredibly impressive skills to FMNA as we press forward into new areas of creative partnerships,” said Beers.

Rierson added: “With the talent and assets the company has in place, it is poised to build rapidly on its iconic brands using its deep domestic and international content generation and distribution capacities. I’m looking forward to working with the entire team to accelerate that process on all fronts.”

FMNA’s current slate of reality programs include “American Idol,” “The X Factor,” “America’s Got Talent” and “The Price is Right.”

Prior to his stint at Shine and Shine’s predecessor Reveille, Rierson served as veep of business affairs at ABC Entertainment, and practiced law for the Alphabet in the ’90s.
