Cabler picks four scribes for its educational program

Nickelodeon has announced the scribes for its 13th Writing Program.

Four fellows selected for the program are Aminta Goyel, Travis Braun and writing pair Tiffany Lo and Ethel Lung. Program will offer the scribes hands-on writing experience on the cabler’s current live-action and toon skeins.

“We’re incredibly excited to welcome the next generation of aspiring writers to Nickelodeon,” said Karen Kirkland, exec director of the Nickelodeon Writing Program. “This unique program gives Aminta, Travis, Tiffany and Ethel an incredible chance to develop a skill set that will prepare them for top writing opportunities in television, and we’re proud to showcase this impressive roster of emerging talent.”

The Nickelodeon Writing Program, established in 2000, provides a salaried position for up to a year and receives over 1,400 applications per cycle.

Alum have moved on to hold freelance and staff positions at nets including Comedy Central, Disney, ABC and Fox.

Sasha Stroman, a scribe from the program’s 2011-2012 cycle, was recently placed on the staff of Nickelodeon’s “Sanjay and Craig.”
