NBC did not comment on a tweet by Wilson that said that NBC had passed on the project. “The Farm” was scheduled as a backdoor pilot for the final season of “The Office,” with former “Office” showrunner Paul Lieberstein exec producing alongside Wilson and Howard Klein. Majandra Delfino and Blake Garrett co-starred in the halfhour, which will still air as an episode of the long-running NBC series. Though the news means no “Office” spinoff will find its way to air next year, several members of the show have projects in development, including an Owen Ellickson-written pilot featuring series regular Craig Robinson with Greg Daniels and Klein among the exec producers.
