Tavernier focuses on new media

LONDON — Global production outfit FremantleMedia has upped Donna Wiffen to head of worldwide drama.

Wiffen will support drama strategy and production, including the development, acquisition and rollout of scripted formats.

Wiffen has extensive experience in drama and production, most recently as FremantleMedia’s senior VP of production and network, worldwide drama, a role she has held since 2009.

Before this she was head of drama production for FremantleMedia’s U.K. arm.

The company’s drama ranges from soaps like “Neighbours” and Germany’s “Gute Zeiten Schlechte Zeiten” to more high-end fare such as “Hit and Miss,” the transgender thriller made with screenwriter Paul Abbott’s Abbott Vision.

Claire Tavernier will head FremantleMedia’s central new-media division FMX.

Previously Tavernier oversaw digital and drama as senior exec VP, FMX and worldwide drama.

Both execs will be based in London and report to FremantleMedia CEO Cecile Frot-Coutaz.
