EVP rewarded for cabler's long-running success
USA has promoted Bill McGoldrick to exec veep of original scripted programming.
McGoldrick will continue to oversee all scripted drama, comedy, long-form and event programming at USA. The cabler, which in 2011 delivered the most-watched summer in cable history, has expanded to five nights of original programming each week, including such programs as “Royal Pains,” “Burn Notice,” “Suits” and “White Collar.”
Upcoming projects include new drama “Common Law,” miniseries “Political Animals” (starring Sigourney Weaver) and comedy pilot “Local Talent” with Nathan Lane and Cheyenne Jackson.
“Bill has an incredible track record in developing and managing the success of our strong and diverse slate of scripted programming,” said USA co-prexy and Universal Cable Productions co-head of original content Jeff Wachtel. “We know he will continue to lead the network to even greater achievements, this summer and beyond.”
McGoldrick most recently served as SVP of original scripted programming, after having been senior original series programming veep at Spike.
