UPI nabs ‘Wolf of Wall Street’ in U.K., Germany

Pact wtih Red Granite includes rights to two other pics

Universal Pictures Intl. has acquired rights in the U.K., Germany and a handful of other Euro territories to Martin Scorsese’s “The Wolf of Wall Street.”

Paramount Pictures already has domestic distribution rights to the Red Granite pic, set to bow in the fourth quarter of 2013. UPI will also distrib in Austria, Switzerland, Spain and Scandinavia.

UPI also secured rights from Red Granite to the supernatural-fantasy, “Horns” starring Daniel Radcliffe and the crime-thriller, “Motel” starring John Cusack and Robert De Niro, in select territories.

“The Wolf of Wall Street” stars Leonardo DiCaprio and Jonah Hill and is based on Jordan Belfort’s best-selling memoir. Film is currently lensing in Gotham and follows Belfort’s rise and fall on Wall Street.
