Discovery en Espanol is unveiling its first-ever reality game show, “Batalla de Ingenios” at Discovery U.S. Hispanic’s upfront presentation on Tuesday.The brisk urban-set engineering competish pitches a dozen highly skilled individuals into an eight-stage elimination challenge that will test their knowledge in science and nature as well as their physical endurance. The cabler is also looking to capitalize on the pre-World Cup 2014 soccer fever with “Hard Kicks,” which tracks a professional soccer club and its ardent fans. Another original Discovery U.S. Hispanic skein, “2111,” returns after a successful first run last year. Hosted by Mexican journalist Idzi Sanchez, skein explores the future with use of 3D and CGI technologies and testimonies of experts to predict what life will be like 100 years from now. Sibling channel Discovery Familia’s primetime lineup is led by original production “10 Anos Menos” (10 Years Younger), a makeover program for busy working moms or simply style-challenged women. “We’re so proud of Discovery U.S. Hispanic and what it has become. Discovery en Espanol, launched in 1998 as one of the first U.S. Hispanic cablers catering to the growing demand for Spanish-language programming. Discovery en Espanol is now the second highest-rated Hispanic cabler in primetime. Discovery Familia is the first U.S. network aimed at U.S. Hispanic moms and their preschool age children.
