Second season to play on Cartoonito
MADRID — Turner Broadcasting has reupped on acquired toon series “Jelly Jamm,” produced by Spain’s Vodka Capital, nabbing the second season for its pre-school brand Cartoonito.
In September, Turner rolled out U.K. pre-school channel Cartoonito across Europe, the Middle East and Africa, often as a branded block on Boomerang.
A vibrantly colored, pre-school comedy about five wacky friends on planet Jammbo, the origin of music, “Jelly Jamm’s” first season was chosen as one of a clutch of flagship debut shows for Cartoonito, along with “Bananas in Pyjamas” and “LazyTown.”
Deal saw Turner acting as not only a broadcast partner but also licensing agent in EMEA countries.
Vodka Capital has just wrapped production on season one of “Jelly Jamm.”
Cecilia Persson, VP acquisitions and co-productions, Turner Broadcasting, said: “This second season will strengthen our strong content line-up as we continue to build the channel’s footprint across the region.”
