Tobolowsky joins ‘Mindy Project’

Setton also added to cast, Barinholtz to recur

Character actor Steven Tobolowsky has joined the ensemble of upcoming Fox sitcom “The Mindy Project.”

Tobolowsky will play an avuncular doctor on the Mindy Kaling starrer premiering Sept. 25 and also featuring Chris Messina, Ed Weeks, Anna Camp and Zoe Jarman.

Also joining the regular cast is Amanda Setton (“Gossip Girl”), playing a tenacious office manager.

Ike Barinholtz (“Mad TV”), who is an exec story editor on “Mindy,” will recur as a rehabilitated ex-con who is a male nurse at the medical practice where Kaling’s character works.
