SYDNEY — Lachlan Murdoch has been elevated to the role of chairman at the Ten Network, after a year serving as interim CEO.
Murdoch oversaw the appointment of incoming CEO James Warburton late last year, but Warburton’s arrival was held up by a legal challenge from the Seven Network, his previous employer. Ten’s existing chairman Brian Long will serve as Murdoch’s deputy. In a statement, Long said Murdoch had reset the company’s strategic vision and improved its cost base during his reign as temporary topper. ”The board believes that the combined media capability of James Warburton as TEN’s chief executive officer and Lachlan Murdoch as non-executive chairman provides the best opportunity for value creation for all shareholders,” Long added.Ten ups Lachlan Murdoch to chairman
