Rosabal spent 20 years at Univision; reports to Falcon
Telemundo continues to beef up its national news operation with the appointment of Sylvia Rosabal as senior VP of network news.
Rosabal joins the NBCUniversal-owned broadcast net after more than 20 years as a news exec at Univision. In her new post, she’ll oversee all network news editorial content including online properties. Telemundo has pledged to step up the volume of its local and national news programming under the new Comcast-led regime at NBCU.
Based in Miami, Rosabal reports to Alina Falcon, who joined Telemundo as exec veep of news and alternative programming from Univision late last year.
Rosabal “has a deep understanding of Hispanic America and a proven track record in journalism excellence that will strengthen the connection with our audience and help us drive growth across all our network news properties,” Falcon said in announcing the appointment.
NBCUniversal CEO Steve Burke has cited Telemundo as a prime growth prospect for the Peacock.
