Tech stumble for ‘Rumble’

Viewers left without live feed to O'Reilly, Stewart debate

It was billed as “The Rumble,” but Saturday’s online debate between Bill O’Reilly and Jon Stewart left a lot to grumble about, too.

Technical difficulties kept an undetermined number of viewers willing to pay $4.95 to stream the mockingly self-titled “Rumble in the Air-Conditioned Auditorium” without the live feed, which was scheduled for 8 p.m. ET.

“Rumble” organizers issued a tweet suggesting “overwhelming demand had overloaded the servers.” An explanation posted after the event to suggested a refund would be available later this week.

The hosts of the “The O’Reilly Factor” and “The Daily Show” verbally sparred on political issues live from George Washington University.
