Cablers kick start proceedings Jan. 3 before PBS closes out

Dates for the winter Television Critics Assn. tour are firming up.

Sessions, which will take place at the Langham Hotel in Pasadena, are set to begin with three days of cablers. Networks will present their programming wares Jan. 3-5.

The broadcast and cable entities of NBCUniversal follow up on Jan. 6-7 before Fox takes the stage Jan. 8. FX has claimed Jan. 9, with two days of ABC/Disney fare slated for Jan. 10-11.

CBS has landed Jan. 12 while the CW and Showtime will share Jan. 13. PBS has scheduled Jan. 14-15 and the final day, Jan. 16, is being saved for a handful of set visits.

While the summer tour is annually housed at the Beverly Hilton, the hotel can’t accommodate the winter tour because it needs to prepare the Golden Globes.

Among the midseason shows that will likely garner attention during the winter TCA tour are Fox’s “American Idol,” David E. Kelley’s hospital drama “Monday Mornings” on TNT and HBO’s Liberace biopic “Behind the Candelabra,” which stars Michael Douglas and Matt Damon.
