MADRID — Continuing its roll-out across Europe, AMC Networks’ Sundance Channel has launched in Spain on regional cabler Euskatel and on Romania’s UPC, AMC/Sundance Channel Global announced Tuesday.
Euskatel will air Sundance Channel in HD in the Basque Country, servicing 2.2 million inhabitants.
In Spain, it’s already carried on Imagenio, the IPTV pay TV operator owned by giant telco Telefonica, where it recently added HD and iPads/iPhones services.
Sundance Channel will broadcast in standard and HD on Liberty Global affiliate UPC Romania, one of the country’s biggest cable TV operators.
Sundance Channel recently launched on Liberty Global affiliates Focus Sat in Romania, UPC in Hungary and expanded its carriage on Telenet, another Liberty Global affil.
Network’s goal is to be seen on as many pay TV platforms as possible in local markets. In France, for example, where Sundance Channel recently launched on Virgin, it is also available on Numericable, Free and SFR’s Neufbox.
