Starz will bow the second season of original series “Boss” on Aug. 17.
Skein stars Kelsey Grammer as a Machiavellian Chicago mayor hiding a deteriorating mental condition. Role earned Grammer a Golden Globe nom and some were surprised he was passed during last month’s Emmy nods. Pay cabler gave the Lionsgate-produced series an early second season renewal, long before it saw ratings fall as the first season moved along. Co-stars include Connie Nielsen, Hannah Ware and Jeff Hephner. Exec producer are Grammer, creator Farhad Safinia, Gus Van Sant, Brian Sher, Stella Bulochnikov and Dee Jonson.
