Hilary Smith has been upped to senior VP of communications for NBCUniversal’s entertainment, digital networks and integrated media biz, overseeing communications and serving as lead spokeswoman for the unit that oversees Telemundo, mun2, Bravo Media, Oxygen Media, Style Media, Sprout, DailyCandy, Fandango, iVillage, Television Without Pity and the integrated media group.She reports to division chair Lauren Zalaznick. Smith, at NBCU since 1998, replaces Cameron Blanchard, who was recently named senior VP of corporate communications. “Hilary is an extraordinary communicator who brings immense creativity and strategic thinking to this role,” said Zalaznick in a statement. Most recently, Smith oversaw communications for digital businesses Fandango, DailyCandy, iVillage and Television Without Pity. She also led communications, consumer and trade marketing for integrated media, including ad sales and marketing initiatives Women at NBCU, Green Is Universal, Healthy at NBCU and Hispanics at NBCU. Smith started with the company at newsmagazine “Dateline NBC,” where she was chief spokeswoman as well as publicist for anchors Jane Pauley and Stone Phillips. Previously, she worked in media relations at CBS and Citibank.
