Mark Ryan has been added to the “Black Sails” cast at Starz.
Pirate series, from exec producder Michael Bay, is shooting in Cape Town, South Africa. Eight episodes will air on the pay cabler in 2014. Ryan will play the right-hand man of Captain Flint, played by Toby Stephens. Ryan and Bay have worked together before, with the actor adding his voice to the Audobots on the “Transformers” franchise. Neil Marshall is set to direct the first episode. Starz, as it often does, ordered the series without a pilot. He is repped by manager Sandy Oroumieh at Rothman Patino Andres Entertainment.
