Actress will also star as adult looking back at her past
Molly Ringwald may not be hanging up the hat on her famed 1980s teen characters just yet.
Thesp is currently developing a drama at Lifetime that centers on a woman who returns to her hometown with two kids and confronts the social issues of her past, including the mean girls of her high school days.
The character, to be played by Ringwald, is evocative of the type of persona Ringwald rose to fame playing in John Hughes pics, such as “Pretty in Pink,” “The Breakfast Club” and “Sixteen Candles.”
Ringwald will exec produce the project at Lifetime. She currently stars in ABC Family’s “The Secret Life of the American Teenager.”
Ringwald is repped by Untitled Entertainment.
