Richard Huff joins CBS News

Longtime TV journo named exec director of communications

Longtime New York Daily News television reporter and editor Richard Huff has joined CBS News as exec director of communications.

Huff will spearhead PR and brand development across multiple platforms for “48 Hours Mystery,” “CBS Sunday Morning,” CBS News Prods. and CBS News’ primetime speshes, among other duties. He’ll start at the Eye in May.

Huff had been with the Daily News since 1993, rising to TV editor in 2001.

“This is the right move for me to the right place and surrounded by the right people,” Huff said. “There’s a tremendous amount of energy at CBS News.”

Before joining the Daily News, Huff worked as a Gotham correspondent for Daily Variety and as a staff reporter for the Hollywood Reporter.
