Redford, Sundance eye TV production

'All the President's Men' retrospective among initial projects

Robert Redford and producing partner Laura Michalchyshyn are launching a new production company focused on TV and multimedia, Sundance Prods.

An original two-hour documentary for Discovery, “All the President’s Men Revisited,” will help kick off the new shingle’s slate, which will develop content for distribution on broadcast, cable and digital platforms — new direct outlets for the “unique and artful stories” that Redford said are his passion.

“Interesting talent and smart collaboration in creating special television content and media – that’s what we’re about,” said Michalchyshyn, who has worked in senior executive roles at Sundance Channel, Discovery Communications and Alliance Atlantis.

Redford is narrating the “President’s Men” doc, scheduled for air in January, and exec producing with Michalchyshyn and Andy Lack. Among the other projects on tap is miniseries “Valentines,” an adaptation of Olaf Olafsson’s book of short stories.
