Promotions announced at ‘Colbert Report’

Moreschi moved up to head writer, Julien to co-exec producer

Opus Moreschi has been upped to head writer and Barry Julien to co-exec producer of “The Colbert Report.”

Comedy Central’s daily satirical series, in which Stephen Colbert plays a faux right-wing zealot, follows “The Daily Show With Jon Stewart” at 11:30 p.m. ET.

Moreschi, who joined the show in 2008 and has performed sketch comedy, moves up from a staff writer position. Julien, who will continue as a writer, is a Montreal native and wrote for several Canadian productions before shifting to “Colbert Report” in 2007.

“Barry Julien and Opus Moreschi are tireless, visionary producers and incredibly talented writers. For instance, they wrote this sentence,” said Colbert.
