‘Political Animals’ ratings off from bow

Sunday's episode draws 2.3 million viewers, 597,000 in 18-49 demo

Ratings for the second week of USA Network miniseries “Political Animals” fell slightly from its premiere episode.

Nielsen estimates that the Washington, D.C.-set drama drew 2.3 million viewers Sunday night, off from the 2.6 million who tuned for the telecast a week ago. In the 18-49 demo, 597,000 watched last night, as did 691,000 in the 25-54 demo.

The NBCUniversal cabler got some good news, however, when the Live +3 numbers came in for the pilot. Total viewers rose 33% to 3.4 million, adults 18-49 grew 37% (to 924,000) and adults 25-54 rose 38% (to 1.15 million).

Six-hour project, from Warner Horizon, stars Sigourney Weaver as a Hillary Clinton-like Secretary of State who is dealing with personal and professional issues. Co-stars include James Wolk, Ciaran Hinds and Carla Gugino.

Greg Berlanti exec produces with Laurence Mark.
