'Food Chain' competish show based on format airing in Italy
Break out the butter and sour cream: Celeb chef Paula Deen is in town meeting with syndie distribs to pitch a firstrun cooking gameshow dubbed “Food Chain” with Zodiak USA.Deen and Natalka Znak, Zodiak USA’s acting head, are making the rounds of major buyers this week. “Food Chain,” a format owned by Zodiak’s parent company, is a hit in Italy. Show involves families competing in a cooking contest to win escalating cash prizes. Deen will host. Deen, a staple on foodie TV programs and the talkshow circuit, is known for championing calorie-rich comfort foods from her native South.
