Obama to introduce ‘Mockingbird’ airing

President to deliver special intro for USA Network

President Obama will deliver a special introduction for the USA Network airing of “To Kill a Mockingbird,” the cabler announced Tuesday.

The April 7 presentation will mark the first national airing of the remastered 1962 classic toplined by Gregory Peck. As part of Universal’s centennial celebration, the studio has committed to restoring 13 library titles, including “The Birds” and “Jaws.”

The airing also underlines USA’s Characters Unite public service campaign to battle various forms of discrimination through programming and community outreach.

Pic will be shown with limited commercials.
