“A Gifted Man” showrunner Neal Baer has tapped former Overture Films exec Jessica Shulman to run his CBS TV Studios-based production shingle Baer Bones Inc.
“Jessica is a savvy executive who has a gift for working with writers and a great sense of storytelling,” Baer said in announcing the appointment. The company will focus on developing new series projects for the studio.
Shulman previously worked in production and acquisitions at Overture. After that company shuttered in 2010, Shulman spent two months volunteering at orphanage in Ethiopia.
Before Overture, Shulman worked as as a creative exec for Bobker Kruger Films. She began her career in the film lit department at Paradigm.
Baer was tapped as showrunner and exec producer of CBS medical drama “Gifted Man” after he inked a three-year pact with the Eye last June. He previously spent 11 seasons as showrunner of NBC’s “Law & Order: SVU.”
