National Geographic sets ‘Dragon Wars’

Cable net's special will focus on mythological creatures

National Geographic will breathe fire into Western folklore with a new TV spesh.

Dragon Wars: Fire and Fury,” featuring CGI and live action sequences, will focus on myths and historical details surrounding the fantastical medivial creature. Announcement came at sci-fi fantasy confab Dragon*con in Atlanta.

“Dragon Wars” will bow on Nat Geo in the U.S. later this year. Special will then premiere globally next year.

Impossible Pictures produces for National Geographic Channel. Steve Maher and Paul Wooding are exec producing for Impossible, and Kevin Mohs for Nat Geo.
