TV Guide Network and Spike extend reality series

TV Guide Network has renewed unscripted series “Nail Files” from exec producer SallyAnn Salsano for an eight-episode second season to air this summer.

In addition, Spike TV has ordered a 13-episode second season of reality competition skein “Ink Master.”

“Nail Files” premiered June 21 to the best ratings TV Guide Network has had for a new original series. Salsano (“Jersey Shore”) and 495 Prods. are behind the program, which follows the personal and professional life of nail salon owner Katie Cazorla.

“We are pleased to bring back the series with even more Hollywood celebrities, reality drama and intriguing characters,” TV Guide Network chairman Allen Shapiro said.

Meanwhile on Spike, Dave Navarro hosts tattoo series “Ink Master,” which has averaged 1.4 million viewers Tuesday nights since premiering Jan. 17, and has roughly doubled Spike’s audience in the timeslot year-to-year. The second-season order is an increase over the first season of eight episodes.

Charlie Corwin, Jay Peterson and Andrea Richter exec produce “Ink Master” for Original Media.
