Scripted dramas come from former 'Boardwalk' scribe
Writer Margaret Nagle has a pair of pilots set up at CBS and Fox.Untitled Eye project, from Warner Bros. TV, is a modern reworking of Jane Austin’s “Sense and Sensibility” set in the world of medicine. Three very different but devoted sisters have their lives turned upside down when the father who abandoned them during their childhood returns, seeking more than forgiveness. In Fox’s “Paradise Falls,” a down-on-his-luck documentary filmmaker is sent by a crime reality show to cover the trial of a heinous crime that has engulfed the tourist town of Paradise Falls, Penn. As he digs into the facts surrounding the murder, he uncovers corruption and deceit at every turn, realizing this case is merely a smokescreen for the townspeople’s twisted ambition for fame and profit. Project is being produced at Universal Television. Nagle, who was a supervising producer and scribe on HBO’s “Boardwalk Empire,” will write and exec produce both pilots. Margaret Riley will also exec produce “Paradise Falls” and documentarian Joe Berlinger will co-exec produce. Nagle is repped by UTA and Brillstein Entertainment Partners.
