MTV greenlights four series

Unscripted skeins join 'Dev' on schedule

MTV has ordered four new unscripted series, as well as a special centered around pop singer Dev.

Slated for primetime are “The Heights,” an hourlong skein following the lives of best friends in New York’s Washington Heights, and “Epic Fail,” a halfhour panel show focused on awkward and embarrassing moments submitted by viewers.

Cheryl Horner Sirulnick and George McTeague of Gigantic Prods. will exec produce “Heights” with Beck Hickey, Craig Sloane and Jim Czarnecki, while Jim Biederman, Evan Mann, Gareth Reynolds and Kara Welker will hold the reins for “Epic Fail.”

Another new series, “Totally Clueless,” is a weekday hidden-camera gameshow in which people will win cash depending on how quickly they figure out they are on TV. Bob Kusbit is credited with the concept and will exec produce with Brian Flanagan, Matt Ostrom, Laura Johnson and Francis Lyons.

And for Saturday mornings, the cabler is moving forward with “MTV’s This Is How I Made It,” in which celebrities will help explore secrets of success. Dave Sirulnick and Ryan Kroft will exec produce.

The primetime special “Dev” centers around the singer’s efforts to prepare for a concert tour while also being on the verge of motherhood. Jason Carbone exec produced.

MTV also said that previously announced talkshow “MTV’s Hip-Hop POV” will premiere April 11, following the season premiere of “Randy Jackson Presents America’s Best Dance Crew.”
