Modern Times seals content deals with NBCU, Fox

It's Viasat channels will also air Nordisk shows

Modern Times Group has pacted with the TV arms of NBCUniversal and 20th Century Fox plus Nordisk Film for content to feed its Viasat Broadcasting channels in Scandinavia.

Viasat has renewed two licensing agreements with NBCUniversal Intl. Television Distribution for free TV and pay TV rights. The first gives Viasat exclusive free TV rights in Sweden, Norway and Denmark to a bevy of current and library features along with scripted and unscripted TV series. The second agreement gives the net exclusive pay TV and subscription video-on-demand rights in Sweden, Norway, Denmark and Finland for current and library films.

Viasat also has extended a multi-year license with 20th Century Fox Television Distribution for premium and library movie rights in Sweden, Norway, Denmark and Finland. The license gives Viasat rights to the films’ second pay TV window. The deal also provides catch-up rights to broadcasts on the Viasat Film premium pay TV channels in the region, available through Viasat’s set-top boxes.

Lastly, Viasat extended a multi-year license agreement with Nordisk Film for exclusive first-run and library title movies on pay TV for Sweden, Norway, Denmark and Finland. Similarly, the deal also gives Viasat rights for first-run and library titles in Sweden and library titles in Denmark for its free TV channels.
