Mira Sorvino has officially locked in the lead role in CBS drama pilot “Trooper.”
Sorvino will play a commonsensical mother-turned-New York state trooper in the pilot from exec producers Jerry Bruckheimer, Jonathan Littman and Aron Coleite (who scripted). Craig Gillespie is exec producing and directing the pilot, which co-stars Jay Hernandez.
Sorvino has made noteworthy guest appearances on television, including an episode of “House” that drew an audience of more than 29 million after the Super Bowl in 2008, but this will be her first series regular role since winning the 1995 supporting actress Oscar for “Mighty Aphrodite.”
Jerry Bruckheimer Television is producing “Trooper” in association with Warner Bros. Television.
