Exec upped to exec veep following departure of Noreen Halpern

Michael Rosenberg has been upped to exec veep of U.S. scripted television for eOne.

Rosenberg will oversee development and current programming for the fast-growing indie distrib, as well as production. His promotion fills the void left in February by the departure of Noreen Halpern, who was eOne’s L.A.-based prexy of dramatic programming.

Rosenberg has been senior veep of original scripted series programming since 2009.

“Michael is an extremely talented creative executive with a great eye for material,” said eOne TV chief exec John Morayniss.

Rosenberg will work closely with Benedict Carver, eOne’s senior veep of filmed entertainment to scout opportunities for the TV wing.

At present Rosenberg is shepherding a development slate that includes a fantasy drama from Steven Bochco (“Evolution”) and a thriller from Paul W.S. Anderson (“The Reel”). In both cases, eOne is shopping the shows to foreign buyers to garner the bulk of the production financing before securing a domestic domestic outlet.

EOne’s active slate of series includes AMC’s “Hell on Wheels,” Syfy’s “Haven” and NBC’s upcoming medical drama “Saving Hope.”
