Producer plans TV series based on Anthony Spilotro's life

Mark Wolper has optioned rights to develop the true story of Anthony Spilotro, the Vegas mobster who inspired the film “Casino,” into a TV series.

Wolper, who heads WB-based Wolper Organization, will work with scribe Nicholas Celozzi to adapt Celozzi’s screenplay “The Legitmate Wiseguy” into a skein. Script is based on Celozzi’s research and own familial relations to the Chicago mob. Additional writers may come onboard, and Wolper is currently eyeing domestic distribution.
