Lythgoe to chair Britannias

Producer earns top spot during BAFTA L.A. anniversary year

Nigel Lythgoe has been selected to chair the BAFTA Los Angeles’ Britannia Committee, which oversees the production of the annual Britannia Awards.

The kudofest, whose honorees are selected for their contributions to the advancement of the entertainment arts, will take place Nov. 7 at the Beverly Hilton.

“I am delighted to be chairing the committee that produces the Britannia Awards during BAFTA L.A.’s 25th anniversary year,” Lythgoe said. “As the prestige and media attention around the show has grown in recent years, our goal is to take it to the next level.”

Lythgoe also serves on the BAFTA L.A. board’s executive committee.

Proceeds from the gala ceremony support BAFTA L.A.’s ongoing education, scholarship, community outreach and archival projects.
