Reality series is cable network's youngest-skewing series
Lifetime is bringing its hit reality skein “Dance Moms” back for a third season.
Docuseries follows dance instructor Abby Lee Miller as she coaches young girls on the dance competish circuit. Cabler has ordered 26 new episodes to air next year.
By the end of its second season run last month, “Dance Moms” topped unscripted cable among women in its Tuesday 9 p.m. timeslot. Reality show is currently Lifetime’s youngest-skewing series.
“With major growth season-to-season,” said Rob Sharenow, exec veep of programming at Lifetime Networks, “‘Dance Moms’ continues to be a top performer and important franchise for Lifetime.”
Skein has led to spinoff series including “Dance Moms: Miami” and “Abby’s Ultimate Dance Competition,” which bowed this week.
