It’s not every child star who goes on to earn a bachelor’s degree in Hebrew and Jewish Studies and a doctorate in neuroscience. But Mayim Bialik is not your typical showbiz kid, as she proved by following her 1990-95 run on NBC’s “Blossom” by hitting the books at UCLA.
Now she’s back in primetime as a co-star of “The Big Bang Theory,” but that hasn’t stopped Bialik from teaching courses to homeschool students and writing a parenting book, “Beyond the Sling.”
Bialik will talk up the “attachment parenting” techniques she’s studied and applied to her own child-rearing experiences on Sunday at the Skirball Cultural Center. The afternoon conversation will be moderated by “Big Bang Theory” co-exec producer Dave Goetsch.
