King in early development on ‘Now and Then’ series

'Pretty Little Liars' exec producer brings show to ABC Family

Pretty Little Liars” exec producer I. Marlene King is developing a show for ABC Family based on her theatrical film “Now & Then.”

The 1995 New Line Cinema pic, about four teenage girls who spend a 1970 summer together, was directed by Lesli Linka Glatter and starred Christina Ricci, Demi Moore, Melanie Griffith and Rosie O’Donnell.

Project is in early stages of development and likely wouldn’t reach pilot stage until next year.

“Pretty Little Liars” is currently in its third season and stars Lucy Hale, Troian Bellisario, Shay Mitchell and Ashley Benson. The net’s top-rated show is exec produced by King, Oliver Goldstick and Leslie Morgenstein.

King is repped by Gersh.
