Exec to oversee 'Idol,' 'X Factor,' 'America's Got Talent'
LONDON — FremantleMedia prexy of worldwide entertainment Trish Kinane is segueing into a new job that gives her oversight of “American Idol,” “The X Factor” and “America’s Got Talent” in North America.
The British TV exec will move to Los Angeles when she begins her new job Aug. 1, reporting to Cecile Frot-Coutaz, the incoming CEO of FremantleMedia.
Kinane’s lengthy new title is prexy of entertainment programming — “American Idol,” “The X Factor” and “America’s Got Talent” for FremantleMedia North America.
She will work closely with the shows’ broadcasters, Fox and NBC, and production companies, Syco and 19.
Before joining Fremantle, where she oversaw the global roll-out of all the outfit’s developed and acquired non-scripted formats, Kinane was joint managing director of U.K. entertainment specialist Action Time.
