Korean Broadcasting topper draws Directorate Award
Kim In-kyu will be feted with the 2012 Intl. Emmy Directorate Award at the 40th Intl. Emmy Awards on Nov. 19 in Gotham.
Kim is prexy-CEO of pubcaster the Korean Broadcasting System and is president of the Asia-Pacific Broadcasting Union. He started his career at KBS in 1973.
“KBS is one of the great television services in the world, and Kim, one of the leading media figures in Asia,” said Bruce L. Paisner, head of the Intl. Academy of Television Arts & Sciences.
KBS was responsible for the nation’s first TV broadcast in 1961. Based in Seoul, it has 18 regional stations and 13 overseas bureaus.
