Talkshow adds longtime 'Oprah' director to team

“Katie,” the new syndicated talkshow starring Katie Couric, has been given a Sept. 10 premiere date.

Distributed by Disney-ABC Domestic TV, “Katie” has been cleared in 94% of the country.

Exec producer and showrunner Jeff Zucker, the former NBC honcho, also announced the hiring of 14-year “The Oprah Winfrey Show” helmer Joe Terry to direct and daytime vet Kathy Samuels, who helped launch “Rachael Ray” among her many credits, as co-exec producer.

“Katie” is one of several anticipated daytime launches this fall, along with shows featuring Steve Harvey, Ricki Lake, Jeff Probst and Trisha Goddard.
