Disney-ABC’s “Katie,” the top-rated new syndicated talkshow in three years, picked up more steam in the November sweep — racking up its largest weekly aud to date.For the final complete week of the November ratings period (Nov. 12-18), “Katie” spiked 17% over the previous frame in households (2.1 rating) and overall audience (2.75 million), according to Nielsen. The Katie Couric-hosted show also matched its best output yet in all key female demos. The show has now been the No. 1 rookie syndie talker for each of its first 10 weeks in both total viewers and women 25-54. And in these categories, “Katie” is the top-rated newcomer since “Dr. Oz” came along in 2009. With three days left to be counted in the November sweep, “Katie” stood as the dominant first-year talkshow, topping runner-up “Steve Harvey” by 39% in total viewers (2.61 million vs. 1.87 million) and by 22% in women 25-54 (1.1 vs. 0.9). During the Nov. 12-18 frame, “Katie” featured guests Judge Judy on Monday and Dr. Phil on Friday. Other topics included prescription drugs and superstar psychic mediums. “Katie” is executive-produced by Katie Couric and Jeff Zucker and is distributed by Disney-ABC Domestic Television.
