Int’l Acad honors Alan Alda, Norman Lear

Pair will receive special Founders Awards on Nov. 19

Alan Alda and Norman Lear will receive the Intl. Academy of Television Arts and Sciences’ special Founders Awards at the 40th IEmmy gala in New York on Nov. 19.

Alda was cited for his work in “MASH,” while Lear’s “All in the Family” was singled out by IEmmy prexy Bruce L. Paisner.

“Glee” creator Ryan Murphy will receive the Founders Award, and Korean Broadcasting System president and CEO Kim In-kyu will be given the Intl. Emmy Directorate Award.

The Intl. Academy will present Emmys in nine program categories in addition to the special awards.
