IFC has greenlit “Comedy Bang! Bang!,” a series based on “Mr. Show” scribe-thesp Scott Aukerman’s podcast of the same name, and featuring music by comic and multi-instrumentalist Reggie Watts. The net has also slated “Bunk” (working title) for production; the latter is a gameshow parody produced by Avalon Entertainment.
Aukerman’s list of credits includes popular Web series “Between Two Ferns,” a “Charlie Rose”-style mock talkshow hosted by Zach Galifianakis. “Bang! Bang!” will be produced by Abso Lutely Prods., with Aukerman exec producing alongside Dave Kneebone and Leo Allen. “Bunk” will feature a rotating cast of comedians; the series is created by Ethan T. Berlin and Eric Bryant and hosted by standup comic Kurt Braunohler.
