Discovery Channel named Scripps Networks Interactive exec Jason Hyde VP of research on Tuesday.
Hyde will use primary research and studies along with Nielsen ratings and other data to develop programming, scheduling and marketing strategies and advise the net’s senior management. He reports to Edward Sabin, group COO of the Discovery & TLC Networks.
At Scripps, Hyde was veepee for HGTV and DIY Network Research, helping drive series including “Design Star,” “House Hunters,” “Holmes on Homes” and “Property Brothers.”
Prior to Scripps, he was director of research at the Weather Channel.
