Gurin teams with Japan’s Fuji on TV formats

Pair have two game shows in development

The Gurin Co. has joined forces with Japan’s Fuji TV to whip up new TV formats and programming for the international market, with a priority on unscripted programming and gameshows.

Two projects are in development. “Objects of Desire” takes the premise of a dating gameshow and blends in the over-the-top hijinks of Japanese gameshows. “League of Extraordinary Teams” features teams with special skills from around the U.S. competing in wacky challenges set up in cities around the country.

“Our goal is to tap into the entertainment brands of the Gurin Co. and Fuji TV to create original shows with high production values that are as fun to watch as they are to play,” said Gurin prexy Phil Gurin.
